Truth Matters
Policies protecting health, welfare, and the environment, and our environment must rely on the most current scientific knowledge as vetted and distilled by subject matter experts.

Our Mission
To support scientific integrity and combat misinformation and disinformation related to public policy.
Distill and Disseminate
Science communication can no longer be an afterthought. We must take full responsibility for explaining the weight of the available evidence in language tailored to diverse audiences.
SAI is building a platform for the distillation of science that underlies public health policy.

Educate
Courses, videos and other resources teach not just facts, but the process of science, but why expertise matters, how evidence accumulates, and how to judge credibility. We are currently developing an online version of the course developed by Bob Morris, MD, PhD, on Science Misinformation at the University of Washington.

Connect and Collaborate
The defense of science must be a collective effort. We have built the Science Collaborative is to help groups like the Coalition for a Healthy America connect and communicate to give collective voice to the expert community.

Create
Build and provide tools and platforms to systematically and collectively assess the credibility of research and identify misinformation and disinformation

Promote
Promote reliance on accepted scientific results and analysis to inform publicĀ policy at all times. Scientists have been discouraged from entering the public arena for fear of appearing biased. But if we devote our lives to understanding these issues, who is better qualified to explain them to the public? With that in mind, SAI brought together fifteen groups to plan the March for Health and Science in DC.
