On November 5, 2025 representatives of 15 organizations from the healthcare, public health, and science communities banded together to march from the APHA Rally for the Public’s Health to HHS headquarters to deliver 150,000 signatures calling for the resignation or removal of RFK Jr. from the leadership of that agency. The Coalition for a Healthy America was born out of the event as the member organizations vowed to continue the fight to support medical research, affordable healthcare, and science based public health policy.

The 911 March for Health and Science
The American Public Health Association held a Rally for America’s Health on the National Mall on November 5. A broad coalition of groups from the healthcare, public health, and scientific communities organized a march from the rally to the HHS, where they held a press conference to present petitions Stand Up for Science, Physicians for a Healthy Democracy, Nurses for America, Moveon.org, the Committee to Protect Health Care, the Accountability Journalism Project and the Science Accountability Institute with 150,000 accumulated signatures calling for the resignation or removal of RFK Jr.

- Accountability and expertise in leadership
- Adherence to the best available science in policy decisions
- Restoration of federal public health data collection
- Resumption of funding for science and health
- An end to political litmus tests for science
